We here at First MFG love a good leather jacket, and we love art. So for October’s Giveaway, we decided to partner up with Amanda, aka @clutchandcanvas to give one lucky winner a truly incredible piece of artwork, on the back of a Rockstar jacket in size Small.

Let’s hear from Amanda:

Art has been a constant companion throughout my life and a vehicle for expression and imagination.

Since I took up motorcycling five years ago, First MFG has been with me almost every step of the way:  from my first riding jacket – a now, rather weathered, black Warrior Princess jacket that has seen many miles – to several other items that have remained integral pieces of gear in my riding wardrobe.

When I was approached by First MFG to paint a jacket, I was absolutely thrilled and, in some ways, felt like riding and art were going to come together in a significant way. Getting some paint on an important piece of riding gear was right up my alley.

I was given free reign for the subject which made me reflect on my own time and experience with riding for inspiration. I was immediately drawn to the idea of a tiger: fierce predators that symbolize strength, independence and a release of one’s fear – feelings I think most riders experience and embody while on the road.

The falling petals and shattered gold sun are symbolic of the riding season: as a Canadian, the time that we have to enjoy our two-wheeled adventures is meaningful, but fleeting. While this is a more personal touch to the composition, I felt like it was a reflection that many riders – not just those north of the border – could connect with.

This is one of my favorite back pieces to date, and I loved being able to bring my love for art and motorcycles to First MFG!
