My name is Levi McKinley. I’m 23 years old from Cartersville, GA. I’m a commercial roofing project manager but build bikes on the side. I’ve been riding since I can remember and grew up in the garage working on bikes with my dad. I started out on GSXR and went to a Hayabusa so I definitely have a need for speed. I bought the bike stock in 2016 when I dropped out of college and my life changed forever. It started as a 2012 CVO road glide. I built the bike the way I wanted and was very satisfied. I’ve made several trips on the bike from West Virginia, to Florida multiple times, from GA to California twice. My girlfriend, my dad, and myself were on cross country motorcycle trip from GA to California. We had just made it into California when my girlfriend and I were ran over by a drunk driver. It’s a blessing we’re still here. Insurance totaled the bike. I bought it back and was determined to build something I hadn’t seen before. I wanted to build something that would handle like a sport bike but still be comfortable and functional for 5000 mile trips.
My favorite upgrade would have to be the Öhlins suspension by big bear choppers in California. It’s changed the way I look at Harley’s forever. The front is inverted forks extended 2” with big bear triple trees. The rear shocks are Öhlins 044 with big bear extenders. The bike is stable at 120 mph+ and is on rails through curves. With the raised suspension you can lay the bike down extremely far without ever scrubbing. The Galfer rotors definitely increased the stopping power.
The bike is full of performance based parts
- 113ci high compression big bore kit, heads done by T-man, HPI throttle body and intake manifold, HPI injectors and breather, bassani RR3 exhaust
- Trac dynamics aluminum swingarm
- Hofman designs silver honey comb carbon fiber front fender, rear fender, side covers, saddle bags, and lids. They are extremely light weight and very well made
- custom gauge bezel by Justin Page in NC
- Kraus t-bar risers, saddleman seat, full Flo-moto floorboards with adjustable brake arm and shifter
My favorite road to ride is the Pacific coast highway. Being right next to the ocean but having mountains on the other side is incredible. Pictures nor a go pro do it any justice. The curves and mountains make for an amazing ride and is definitely a road I will ride again.
The ultimate trip in my opinion is the four corners trip. From South Florida to California to Washington to Maine and back home. I’m trying to plan this next year but there’s a lot that goes into planning a trip for this long.
I don’t have any current projects right now but that will soon change. I found a 2017 road king cop bike. I have some really cool ideas and just need a blank canvas.
